A busy April for Cho-Liang Lin begins on April 2 at Rice University with American Inspiration, an evening of music by Leonard Bernstein (“Canon for Aaron”), John Harbison (“Sonata No. 1 for Violin and Piano”), Steven Stucky (“Sonata for Violin and Piano”), Lukas Foss (“Composer’s Holiday”), and Paul Schoenfield (“Sonata for Violin and Piano”). Jon Kimura Parker joins on piano.

Next, on April 5, Lin returns to La Jolla Music Society to celebrate the opening of its new hall, The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center. The exuberant evening features everything from Bach to the Beatles, with stunning performances and musical surprises from Hilary Hahn, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, the Miró Quartet, as well as ukulele sensation Jake Shimabukuro, jookin phenom Lil Buck, and creative technologist Osman Koç. The evening also unites Lin with SummerFest Music Directors past and present—Inon Barnatan, David Finckel, Wu Han and Heiichiro Ohyama.

On April 14, Lin travels to West Virginia University, performing an evening of music with pianist Ching-Wen Hsiao. Lin then moves to Dallas, performing at the Dallas Chamber Music International on April 20 alongside Stephanie Jeong (violin), Atar Arad (viola), Clive Greensmith (cello), and Jon Kimura Parker (piano).

April closes with three touring performances of From Mendelssohn, presented by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, beginning on April 25 in Grand Rapids, MI. Joined by Inon Barnatan (piano), Paul Neubauer (viola), Jakob Koranyi (cello), and Romie de Guise-Langlois (clarinet), and features works by Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky. Performances continue April 27 in Madison, NJ and April 28 in New York, NY.
